How to request a signature from someone else, free

When you need another person to sign — not just you — you need an account so the document can be sent, tracked, and sealed once they’ve signed. It’s free: sign and send up to 3 documents a month, no card required, and the person you send it to never needs an account either.

How to send a document for signature

  1. 1. Upload the document

Add the PDF or contract you need signed and mark where the signature, date, and other fields go.

  2. 2. Send it to them

Enter their email and send. They get a link straight to the document — no account or download required on their end.

  3. 3. Get it back, sealed

Once they sign, you both get a completed PDF with a tamper-evident audit certificate proving who signed and when.

Why does requesting a signature need an account?

Signing your own document is a one-person, one-device job — you can do it entirely in a browser tab with nothing saved anywhere. Requesting a signature from someone else is different: Evenseal has to hold the document while it waits for them, send them a link, know when they’ve opened and signed it, and produce a sealed copy with an audit trail once they have. That requires a place to store and track the envelope — which is what the free account is for.

The person signing doesn’t carry any of that overhead. They click the link you send, sign, and they’re finished — no account, no download, no software to install.

Create a free Evenseal account to send your first request — 3 documents a month, forever, at no cost.

Sending more than a few a month?

Unlimited is $19/month or $190/year — unlimited documents and recipients, reusable templates, no watermark, and no per-envelope or per-send fees, ever. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day trial and cancels in one click.

Frequently asked questions

Is requesting a signature actually free, or is there a catch?+
The free plan is $0 forever: sign and send up to 3 documents a month, no account required for the person signing, a sealed PDF and audit certificate on every completed document, and a small watermark on the finished copy. No card is needed to start.
Does the person I send it to need to create an account?+
No. Recipients never need an account on any plan — they open the link you send, sign, and they’re done. You’re the only one who needs a free account, and only because you’re the one sending.
What if I need to send more than 3 documents a month?+
The Unlimited plan is $19/month or $190/year (two months free): unlimited documents and recipients, reusable templates, no watermark, and no per-envelope or per-send fees, ever. Every paid plan starts with a card-required 7-day trial and cancels in one click. See plans and pricing.
What if I’m the only one who needs to sign?+
If you’re just signing your own document — nobody else needs to — you don’t need an account at all. Use the free in-browser signing tool instead; it never uploads your file anywhere. Sign a PDF online, free.
